Ireland - May08

I'm on a blog roll now... hahahaha ahhhhhhhh

So here are some Ireland pics... Was a great weekend and in case you're wondering who my travel partners are...i'll tell you. Kim (with the dark hair) is a lovely girl from Sydney but has moved to Dublin recently (again) and she's friends with Kelly, who's the other girl in the pics. Kel is a good ol Goulburn girl and is a treat. Kelly is a friend of Nicole who used to work for us and is Rachels sister.. All caught up? Good, on we go. We found loads of real nice people and lots to see in just the few days we were there. Spent most of the time in Galway, such a lovely little city that's easy to get around and has a nice vibe to it. The pics of the Holy Communion are in a town about an hour north of Galway called Cliffden. It was quite a strange site really, we drove in and were held up by the procession from the church. It ran through the streets of the city (we followed it of course) and in the shop windows that it passed people had left pictures and statues of either Jesus or Mary or both with flowers and candles surrounding them. Tres bizarre. The weirdness didn't stop there either, we got out of the car and walked up to where they all had congregated outside a hotel which had set up an alter for the occasion at it's entrance. Everyone stood around and prayed and kneeled at intervals. Even really old folk were kneeling down in the asphalt - felt quite sorry for them actually but they were bang up for it. All in all it was a very special trip around the place and i'm really looking forward to going back sometime for some more Guinness and Irish carry-on!
